As a Bioinformatician, you will lead critical data analysis, manage vital datasets, and shape the bioinformatics infrastructure within the strategic programme. With access to high-performance computing (HPC) and advanced IT facilities, your work will empower researchers globally, fostering breakthroughs in genomics and genetics. You will work alongside a diverse team of bioinformaticians, biologists, and software engineers, driving innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the assembly, annotation, and pan-genomic analysis to address critical questions.
  • Perform sophisticated genome and transcriptome analysis, focusing on the interactions between significant organisms.
  • Develop and enhance bioinformatics infrastructure to support robust and scalable research applications.
  • Provide expert training and mentorship to junior bioinformaticians, PhD students, and early career scientists, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Qualifications And Experience:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a closely related field.
  • Proven expertise in genome assembly, annotation, and pan-genomics, as well as transcriptome analysis of complex experiments.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and scripting with strong skills in R, Python, and Bash.
