Job Title: HR Advisor
Location: North London
Employment Type: Full Time / Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Duration: 12 Month Fixed term Contract
Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive HR Advisor, for a 12 month contract (covering a secondment), to join an established HR team. You will play a pivotal role in providing professional HR advice, managing employee relations (ER) cases, and supporting various HR projects. Your contribution will ensure that HR policies and best practices are effectively implemented, and that employee relations matters are managed in a fair, consistent, and legally compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities
Business Support
- Offer comprehensive HR advice to employees, managers, and stakeholders on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure all advice is aligned with the latest employment law and HR knowledge.
Employee Relations
- Lead and manage employee relations cases including absence reviews, investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances.
- Provide expert advice to managers on HR matters, helping them navigate complex issues while applying company policies effectively.
- Support large-scale employee relations activities such as restructuring and consultations.
- Manage leave requests (maternity, paternity, flexible working) and conduct exit interviews, escalating issues to HR Business Partners.
HR Administrative & Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Recruitment, Payroll, and Compensation & Benefits teams to provide cross-functional support as needed.
Projects
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and HR projects to help meet business and HR objectives.
- Update company policies to ensure alignment with relevant legislation and best practices.
Training and Development
- Deliver HR orientation to new employees and training to people managers.
- Provide HR-related training for line managers as needed to enhance their leadership skills.
To be considered for the position, you'll need the following skills and experience;

- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Capable of influencing and coaching others effectively.
- Proven experience in managing employee relations (ER) cases.
- Demonstrable experience advising and supporting managers on a wide range of HR matters.
- Experience delivering training to manager-level employees.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and up-to-date understanding of employment legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Flexibility in approach to managing workloads.
- Ability to work effectively and contribute within a team.
A CIPD qualification or equivalent is desirable, but not essential, as is a track record of successfully managing complex HR cases and a passion for continuous learning and improving HR processes.
