Would you like to work for a fast-growing Biotechnology company in London?
My client is a specialist in PCR, both testing and the research and development of cutting-edge DNA and RNA amplification technologies. They boast a class leading range of products and services both on market and within their research and development pipeline.
Due to continued expansion, they are looking to hire a Laboratory Manager, to manage the day-to-day laboratory facility and infrastructure.
Specific Responsibilities of the Laboratory Manager will be;
- Maintain stocks of reagents, plasticware, chemicals and other consumables for routine testing, production and research and development.
- Scheduling maintenance, repairs and calibration in accordance with the Quality Management System.
- Purchasing new scientific equipment and lab consumable.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, investigating nonconformities and supplier complaints alongside the QA team.
- Maintain equipment records according to Quality Management System.
- Initiate, approve, close corrective actions.
- Assist in training new members of the laboratory team.
To be considered for the Laboratory Manager role you'll need the following skills, experience and qualifications;
- A degree, masters or Ph.D. in a biological subject, such as molecular biology, biochemistry, biology, cell biology or similar, or have equivalent working experience.
- A good understanding of molecular biology techniques, such as PCR
- Experience contributing to the management of a life sciences laboratory
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with an interdisciplinary group.
- Experience of negotiating with suppliers would be an advantage.
- Experience of working to ISO9001 and/or ISO13485, GMP/GLP Quality Management Systems would be an advantage.
- Good general IT skills, including MS office are essential.
