Job Title: Laboratory Manager
Salary: c. £55,000

Are you looking for new opportunities which utilise your managerial and organisational skills? A fantastic role is now live with a leading In-Vitro Diagnostic company who are looking for a Laboratory Manager to oversee the operations in a new analytical facility.
As a Laboratory Manager, you will ensure the lab operates smoothly and efficiently through the scheduling and supervision of staff members work, maintaining stock and supplies, and ensuring compliance to all Health & Safety standards and protocols.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Take the lead on site by driving consistency within the team and operating individually.
- Promote effective communication across the site through coordination, leading and supporting staff to deliver on their KPI’s and objectives.
- Coordinate and motivate teams to ensure they have the correct skills, knowledge and experience to complete their tasks.
- Promote a lean culture and deploy and support tools and techniques to deliver continuous improvement.
- Lead by example.
- Adhere to specimen preparation procedures. With subsequent implementation of new programs, tests, methods and instrumentation.
- Establish quality standards to maintain laboratory equipment performance.
- Maintain laboratory productivity through monitoring the workload of functional areas, as well as maintaining laboratory staff through assisting with recruitment processes and training.
- Complete operational requirements by scheduling employees and counsel and discipline employees where required.
- Ensure stocks and supplies are well maintained.
- Understanding principal responsibilities and risks in relation to role and conduct all work practices within these standards:
- Is trained and adheres to all H&S instructions received.
- Reports any hazards or failings in procedures to ensure they’re raised sufficiently, and a safe environment is maintained.
- Consistently demonstrates a commitment to quality to deliver products and services to agreed quality standards, regulatory and customer requirements.
- Understanding of responsibilities to comply with ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 QMS and processes in line with company policy.
About You:
- Minimum of a BSc in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Prior experience as a Lab Manager, within a relevantly regulated environment.
- Project Management skills, as well as the ability to track and manage inventory.
- Ability to read, analyse and report data.
- Exceptional organisational skills, as well as the ability to drive and solve practical problems.
- Desirable experience within diagnostic testing or clinical performance studies.
