Medical Director – Oncology Clinical Development

CY Partners are partnering with a global biopharmaceutical organisation to recruit a Medical Director – Oncology Clinical Development. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced physician to lead the clinical development of innovative oncology therapies, helping to bring life-changing medicines from early development through to regulatory approval and commercial launch.
Working within a global, cross-functional team, you'll provide medical leadership across Phase I–III clinical trials, shape clinical development strategy and collaborate with leading scientific experts to advance a growing oncology portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, execution and medical oversight of global Phase I–III oncology clinical trials.
- Develop clinical protocols and contribute to overall clinical development strategy.
- Review and interpret clinical efficacy and safety data to support key development decisions.
- Work closely with Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, Pharmacovigilance, Research and Medical Affairs teams.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions, clinical study reports and scientific publications.
- Build strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, investigators and external experts.
- Represent Clinical Development within cross-functional programme teams and strategic initiatives.
About You
We're looking for a medically qualified professional with a strong background in oncology clinical development and a passion for advancing innovative treatments.
You'll bring:
- MD (or international equivalent).
- Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology, Haematology, Radiation Oncology or Internal Medicine with relevant oncology experience.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or clinical research sector.
- Experience leading or supporting oncology clinical trials.
- Strong knowledge of clinical drug development, regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills within global, matrix organisations.
Desirable:
- MD/PhD or an additional postgraduate qualification (PhD, MBA, MPH).
- Strong industry experience.
- Experience leading oncology development programmes through regulatory submission.
- Strong understanding of the evolving oncology landscape, clinical practice and treatment guidelines.
