CY Partners are looking to recruit an R&D Chemist on behalf of a Teesside based organisation that specialises in developing new technologies and materials.
This role requires an excellent knowledge of Transition Metal Inorganic/Organometallic Chemistry and synthesis of air sensitive compounds is essential to research new products and develop existing products.
Main Responsibilities:-
- Developing original solutions to material synthesis problems
- Conducting theoretical and practical work to develop new manufacturing processes and improve existing manufacturing process
- Designing and documenting research and development experiment protocols
- Conducting theoretical and practical work to solve issues identified by the operations team, customers and collaborators
- Conducting scale up experiments to develop larger batch size capabilities
- Preparing changes to existing product production related quality procedures
- Preparing new product production quality procedures

- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Good teamworking and interpersonal skills
- Experience of working with air sensitive chemicals (Schlenk techniques)
- High level scientific and numerical skills
- Good scientific literature search skills
Education & Essential skills
- A degree in Chemistry or Materials Science
- PhD in the area of transition metal inorganic/organometallic chemistry (highly desirable)
- Experienced working in a practical laboratory environment
- Experienced in working under inert atmospheres (experience in using Schlenk techniques in nitrogen atmospheres)
