My client is developing a revolutionary new NGS-based diagnostic platform in an easy-to-use, sample-to-answer, cartridge-based system designed to generate actionable results direct from clinical specimens in a matter of hours.
As part of their ongoing expansion, they are seeking exceptional scientific talent, including Two Senior Research Assistant with strong diagnostics experience, to join their multi-disciplinary NGS platform development team. This role is pivotal to advancing their cutting-edge cancer diagnostics program.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Research Assistant – Molecular Biology:
- Drive the development of NGS technologies, including molecular biology and biochemistry modules, and their integration into a cartridge-based workflow.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments, ensuring timely and efficient results.
- Provide detailed experimental descriptions and perform comprehensive data analysis, guiding next steps to enhance cancer detection technologies.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with a focus on improving the accuracy and reliability of cancer diagnostics.
- Ensure meticulous management of documentation in compliance with company quality management systems and ISO 13485 standards.
- Support the resolution of technical challenges encountered during oncology-focused experiments.
To be considered for the Senior Research Assistant role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- A BSc or MSc in a relevant life science discipline such as Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics - previous experience in oncology or cancer research would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Molecular Biology and/or Biochemistry techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, capillary/agarose gel electrophoresis, or magnetic bead-based techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to design, troubleshoot, perform, and analyse experiments to generate high-quality experimental data.
- In-depth knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows, especially in cancer-related sample preparation and NGS library preparation.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver results that advance cancer diagnostics.
